For more than 50 years, Elder George Marshall, together with his wife Adele, initiated the Holy Scripture Church of Christ. He held the positions of First Elder and Pastor until 2020, when he transitioned to the role of Pastor Emeritus.
In 1870, Thompson Warner, a former enslaved farmer, and his wife Harriet founded Warner Baptist Church. They established the church on property owned by Thompson, where they raised their family.
On May 8, 1983, Crossroads Baptist Church inaugurated its initial services in a storefront at 5848 Columbia Pike, Bailey’s Crossroads, Virginia. Soon after, the church acquired a freestanding two-story building and moved to 3530 Moncure Avenue in September 1983. Following seven years at the Moncure Avenue location, the growing need for additional space prompted a crucial decision. In August 1990, the church acquired 1.1 acres of land, situated approximately 500 yards from the Moncure facility.
